For seafarers. Free.Mariner's Desk
Your certificates, your sea time and your rest hours, on your phone, up to date and yours to keep. Mariner's Desk works at sea with no signal, and it goes with you when you change companies.
01What it does for you
The paperwork a seafarer carries, kept in one place and kept current.
- Certificates in one place. Add a card by typing it in or by photographing it. The app suggests the type and number, and you confirm them. PDFs are kept too.
- Expiry you won't miss. Certificates show whether they're valid, expiring or expired. With notifications on, you get a daily alert from 90 days before a certificate runs out.
- Sea time that adds up. Log each voyage once. Overlapping dates count once, and your progress toward the next Certificate of Competency is always up to date.
- Rest hours checked for you. Log rest and work by day. The app checks the STCW rules on a rolling basis and shows you any day that falls short, with the hours that are missing.
- Leave and your roster. Request leave and see its status, and see your assignments and any maintenance jobs your company has given you.
- Reference on the ship. STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, COLREGs, ISM, port state control and emergency procedures, all in the app.
- An emergency card. Your next-of-kin details and any medical information you choose to add. Saved to your account and visible only to you.
02It works when the signal doesn't
Built for ships, where the connection comes and goes.
Add and check your records with no connection at all. Changes are saved on the phone and sent when you're back in signal. Your rest-hours log, your sea time and your certificates are all available at sea, the same as in port.
The app also works on a shared device, such as a bridge or ECR terminal, as long as you sign in with your own account and PIN.
03It's yours, whoever you work for
Your record belongs to you, not to the company you're with this season.
Your certificates and sea service stay with your account. When you move to a new company, you link to it with its joining code, and your record comes with you. Nothing is copied into a company's system unless you link to it, and even then your company only sees what it needs to see.
A company can suggest a change to your certificates, but nothing changes until you accept it. The record is yours to decide on.
04Getting started
